Sol Gabetta, Hélène Grimaud
Duo
About
It was early August, and the stars were aligning in the skies above the Swiss Alps. As part of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, a concert planned for Saanen Church in the Bernese Oberland was listed in the programme under the simple title “Debut of a Duo”. So huge was the demand for this first joint appearance by Hélène Grimaud and Sol Gabetta that an additional recital was slotted into the schedule at short notice for the day before, 4 August 2011. It turned out to be a memorable event.
