When The All-Baroque Box was released on DG’s sister label Archiv Produktion in 2012, it was marketed under the ambitious slogan “The Baroque Box to end all Baroque Boxes”. This was based not on hubris but on the knowledge that the quality and breadth of repertoire of the label’s many recordings over the decades justified the claim.
